UQLIT — About
a little about us

More than a society. A place to belong.

UQLIT is a supportive community for women in tech at the University of Queensland. In a male-dominated industry, we know how important it is for members to feel seen, valued and encouraged to explore their potential.

Many of our members find their first mentors, their confidence, and their closest friends here, and that support carries them well beyond university.

THIS IS WHAT IT'S ABOUT

Our story

Founded in 2019, UQLIT has grown rapidly into one of UQ's most active technology societies, attracting 352 members this year. We have been nominated three times for EAIT Club of the Year and are proud to have won the award in both 2022 and 2025. As we enter our 9th year, our mission remains rooted in empowering women in STEM, while expanding to uplift all diverse communities.

Together with our partners, we hosted more than 25 career development and community-building events this year, from sponsor panels and our Mentorship Program to our flagship LIT Gala and High Frequency Networking. These collaborations connected hundreds of students with mentors and industry opportunities, helping bridge the gap between university and the tech workforce.
